In April 2021, Forest Economic Partnership signed a contract with Fastershire on behalf of the Cinderford Community to enable fibre to the premise broadband to be installed in over 500 properties across the town. These homes and businesses remain with poor broadband capability despite the widespread availability of fibre to the cabinet in the town.
Full Fibre Ltd were selected as the successful supplier and will use the project to extend their fibre to the premise services to nearly 4,000 other properties in the town commercially.
Surveying works are set to commence in Summer 2021, with the physical installation starting after this.
Chair of the Digital Connectivity Sub-Group, David Trevelyan said:
“This is a great example of what the Forest Economic Partnership was created to achieve. By bringing together Fastershire, GCC, FoDDC and the community we are helping to ensure the district has the services it needs for the 21st century”
Forest Economic Partnership are currently working across the District to improve it’s digital connectivity infrastructure and are working closely with partners at Fastershire to achieve this shared goal.
