Levelling Up Fund

Last month the Government announced the Levelling Up Fund (LUF) to support regeneration and town centre investment, local transport projects, and cultural and heritage assets. Local councils can bid for the funding of up to £20 million capital grant support.

Forest of Dean District Council are planning to submit a bid before the deadline of 18 June 2021 and we can submit a bid for either a single project, or up to three related projects.

Forest of Dean District Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for project applicants to flag capital projects with a deadline of 23 April for projects to be submitted.

As a key local group they wanted to make you aware of this in case you have any projects you would like to suggest for consideration. Please feel free to circulate within your own networks.

Forest based projects will need to demonstrate that they meet a local need, provide value for money, are financially sustainable over the longer term, are deliverable and provide a good strategic fit with the Forest of Dean District Council’s corporate plan, local plan and economic recovery plan. They will also need to meet Government criteria.

You can find more information about the criteria and the EOI form on our website. Please read this information carefully to make sure any projects you may have are eligible for the scheme.
